Inbox - June 20, 2014

Welcome to this week's Inbox.  For those that have recently discovered us, Inbox is our weekly round up of whisky news and PR material that has found its way in to our email inbox. It was created as we cannot write full articles or do justice to every piece received. It features items from around the world of whisky and is published by us each Friday.

Within Inbox we aim to write a few lines detailing each press release/piece of news/PR event that we have received and provide links, where possible, for you to find out further information.  It's been a bit of a quiet one this week, but here is the news that has caught our attention from this week ...

________

Glendronach - Gets even grandeur
The independent east Highland distillery of Glendronach has announced the release of the fifth batch of its premium Grandeur single malt release.  The latest batch is bottled at 24 years old and at the natural cask strength of 48.9% ABV. It shows the classic sweet, luxurious and rich characteristics that Glendronach is known for.

The casks for this batch have been matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks hand selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker.  It comes presented in an impressive wooden casket.  There are just 600 bottles available, each of which are individually numbered.  The Grandeur 24 years old Batch #5 is available now through selected specialist retailers.  Details of the price were not included in the press release.

Label 5 - Capture the spirit

The popular blended Scotch whisky brand has launched a new digital competition for fans.  The 5" City Contest invites Label 5 consumers from around the world to capture their city of residence or favourite city in a short five second Instagram clip and post it on the Label 5 Facebook page.

The rules are simple - 'Like' the Label 5 page on Facebook, record your five second video and upload it to Instagram using the hashtag #5SCITY and hashtag for the city (eg - #NYC, #LON etc), then get your friends to vote.  The video with the most votes will win the competition.  The first prize is a round-the-world trip for two.  The competition runs until mid-August.
